About Beckie J. Pettis
Beckie became a partner with Phelan Webber Pettis after practicing with another firm in Vancouver WA for over 6 years doing a variety of matters. The favorite parts of her practice have been assisting clients on probate, guardianship and trust matters making her a perfect fit with our team. Beckie has litigated cases resulting from inadequate planning, and knows firsthand how crucial good, timely planning is to preventing life events from becoming crisis events. She is passionate about estate planning and long term care pre-planning. Beckie knows just how desirable and valuable it is to have a thorough, clear plan for your wishes in place well before life events turn into crisis events.
Beckie J. Pettis is an attorney admitted to practice in Washington and the Federal District Court of the Western District of Washington. She was admitted to practice in Washington in 2009. She is a graduate of Judson College, the University of Alabama School of Law, spent a year studying law internationally at the Australian National University, and several years advocating for the interests of elderly and disabled adults.
Beckie has a varied background including years of living and traveling abroad - living in 4 different countries on three continents before the age of 27. Though well beyond age 27 now, and happily a long-time resident of the Vancouver-Portland area, she values the context her early travels provide when dealing with multiple social and cultural perspectives on family dynamics, aging, and end of life issues. Beckie’s background gives her a unique perspective to understanding client goals and challenges. She has handled litigation cases that involved sorting out the problems created by insufficient planning and loves sharing how good planning can avoid those problems.
When not in the office, Beckie enjoys traveling and exploring with her husband, bike-riding, hiking, knitting and doing the bidding of her two very vocal cats.
